The Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles’ (DMV) vehicle inspection vendor, Applus Technologies, informed the agency on March 30, 2021, that they are unable to perform emissions testing due to a system outage.

The vendor has confirmed this is a nationwide system outage that they are working to resolve. DMV has notified law enforcement to ask for their cooperation to not cite those with an expired emissions test during this outage. DMV will provide additional updates on the web at https://portal.ct.gov/DMV and thanks customers for their patience.
