The Newtown High School Winter Guard team, with its show “Evergreen Dreams,” has received “Excellent” ratings over the past two weeks.

Its performance and rating are part of a COVID-modified Musical Arts Conference (MAC) season that includes recorded performances and a modified competitive element.

Overall, the team is in the top three of schools in the MAC Scholastic A Class. Winter Guard coach Allyson Klubek said recently, “The girls have made the best of a shortened season. I love working with them, it’s less of a job and more of a passion to see the girls have fun and improve each week.”

This Saturday, April 3, will be the team’s final performance of the season, where they will recognize seniors Kate Farrington and Grace Dauch.
