avv/gs set 4-5 #695077

HARRISBURG, PENN. — The annual meeting of the Early American Pattern Glass Society (EAPGS) will be April 26–29, at the Sheraton Four Points hotel. The meeting will be held in conjunction with the Eastern National Antiques Show and Sale at the farm center complex.

The meeting will begin on Thursday evening with an informal social gathering that also include authors of recent glass-related books who are available to discuss their work.

Friday night at the hotel there is a social hour, buffet dinner, silent auction for members to buy and sell glass and reference works, and an opportunity for members to show off rare finds or ask for assistance in identifying pieces or patterns.

The annual society membership meeting will be held Saturday morning. All members are urged to attend and take part in the business meeting, or make sure they return the proxy members have received.

Saturday evening, the society will hold the annual dinner program and auction, all open only to society members. Gay Taylor, curator of the American Museum of Glass at the Wheaton Arts and Cultural Center, will be the guest speaker. Jeff Evans of Green Valley Auctions will again volunteer his time as auctioneer. A portion of all auction proceeds goes to the society.

The annual meeting of the society trustees will be Sunday morning and all members are invited to attend.

The EAPGS is an international organization that promotes collecting and the study of Early American Pattern Glass. The society also supports, through its individual members, the collecting activities of a number of museums as well as the collecting of glass reference works by libraries.
