Government Resources For Small Business At WWF, April 9

The Working Women’s Forum, an association of local professionals and entrepreneurs, will feature  “An Overview of Local, State and Federal Government Resources for Small Business” on Wednesday, April 9, at The Villa Restaurant, 4 Riverside Road in Sandy Hook. 

Networking and light dinner begin at 6 pm followed by guest speakers Betsy Paynter, Jean Leonard, and Nelson Merchan. 

Ms Paynter is the economic development coordinator for the Town Of Newtown; Ms Leonard is chairwoman of the Newtown Economic Development Commission; and Mr Merchan is a business advisor with the Connecticut Small Business Development Center (CSBDC), which provides no-cost business advising in the greater Danbury area.  He is also a Danbury SCORE chapter chairman and counselor. 

The panel will cover the range of business of support available for small businesses, locally as well as through the state, and the federal government.  Additionally, Mr Merchan will provide an overview of services provided by the CSBCD and SCORE of Danbury.

The group gratefully accepts canned food, personal health, and beauty items for the Newtown FAITH Food Pantry.
