Mardi Gras Gala Benefits Newtown Youth & Family Services

More than 200 of Newtown’s leaders, business owners, and residents attended this year’s Newtown Youth & Family Services Annual Dinner Dance at the Stone Barn of Whitney Farms in Monroe.

The brass Bourbon Street-style band and parade, complete with beads and masks, conveyed the true spirit of Mardi Gras and youth to the revelers in attendance. Bob Tendler and his upbeat style kept the action going in a lively auction that benefited NYFS.

Event chairperson and Youth Services board member Bonnie Fredericks, who is also the owner of Sandy Hook Hair Company, thanked everyone who contributed. “The donations and auction items were above and beyond anything we could have imagined or anticipated,” she said. “The attendance was incredible and the event was huge success. I thank all of you. Newtown Youth and Family Services thank you.”
