New Morning Is Planning Its

13th Annual Earth Day Celebration

WOODBURY — New Morning Natural & Organic will present its 13th Annual Earth Day Celebration, to be held outside and under tents around the store in Middle Quarter Mall, 738 Main Street South. The celebration will be on Saturday, April 21, from 11 am until 4 pm.

Admission is free and the event will be held rain or shine. This year’s theme is Climate Change.

Wendal Deer with Horns, a member of the Two Kettle Band of the Lakota Nation, will kick off Earth Day at 11, outside in front of New Morning Store, with a traditional native American welcome.

Over 100 exhibitors will offer samples of the latest in natural and organic foods, including local producers Sprain Brook Apiary, Brookview Sugar House, Stonewall Dairy, Steaz Green Tea Sodas, Olive Oil Factory and Snooty Foods.

Art projects, live animals and seed planting for the young at heart will be offered. From now until Earth Day, raffle tickets will be available in the store for a chance to win an energy efficient washing machine from Seventh Generation. No purchase is necessary.

Additional presentations will cover how to stay healthy naturally with yoga, Reiki and chair massage demos; screenings by Balanced Body Wellness of Naugatuck. Returning by popular demand, Josh Berry ND and Dr Michael Gazsi will be on hand to discuss their approaches to good health and diet.

Area non- profit organizations including Audubon at Bent of the River in Southbury, Heifer International, the Connecticut chapter of the Northeast Organic Farming Association will be represented.

WPKN (89.5 FM Bridgeport, WPKM- 88.7 FM, Montauk) host Doug Echols will broadcast live from the event.
