Virginia Mae   Norling

Virginia Mae Norling, 59, of Oxford, died at her home with her devoted family by her side. She was the beloved wife of 37 years to James Norling. Mrs Norling was born November 22, 1947, in Bridgeport, loving daughter of Virginia (Burdett) Zinn of Sandy Hook and the late Walter Zinn.

Mrs Norling was the office manager for Chittenden Insurance Company of Naugatuck. She was a resident of Oxford since 1970. Her interests included quiet moments with nature, as well as other outdoor activities, including, camping, snowmobiling, and jet-skiing. She enjoyed the beaches in Rhode Island and her time spent in Maine. Mrs Norling also had a love of animals.

Besides her husband and mother, she leaves her loving family including three daughters, Carley Barbosa and her husband, Jose, of Naugatuck, Mandy Izokaitis and her husband, Paul, of Naugatuck, and Tammy Sullivan and her husband, Timothy, of Thomaston; two brothers, Russell and Walter Zinn, both of Southbury; two grandchildren, Joshua Barbosa and Laci Sullivan; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves her special friends Von and Theresa Moody of Oxford.

A memorial service in celebration of Mrs Norling’s life was held April 4 in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, Seymour. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
