Alpine Realty For Title

Amy Proulx canned 21 points, including a trio of three-pointers, as Newtown Mobil demolished Alpine Realty, 72-47, to capture The Gym at Newtown Women’s Basketball League championship on Tuesday night.

Amy McKenna added 18 points, a pair of three pointers, six rebounds, two steals and two assists as  Jen dropped in 15 points and pulled down 15 rebounds with three blocks. Lynn Yeager added 13 points and 12 rebounds as  Renee Knapp chipped in five points and three rebounds.

For Alpine, Tori Anderton popped in 19 points with five rebounds and two steals as Shelby Neveriski canned 14 points while dragging down six rebounds and making four steals. Kelly Fengler added eight points and eight rebounds while Sarah Gersky chipped in with six points.

Newtown Mobil won the regular season with only two losses and couldn’t miss a shot tonight, but the key to the game was defense; Mobil did not allow Alpine any second shots.
