DUI Charge

Police said motorist Susan Fellin, 44, of 10 Appleblossom Lane, who was driving westward on Church Hill Road about 12:40 am April 2, made a left turn to enter Queen Street, but drove onto a grass traffic median and knocked over a portable sign.

 Police said they stopped Fellin to investigate, after which they performed field sobriety tests and charged her with driving under the influence and with making a restricted turn.

After processing the case, police released Fellin on $50 bail for an April 18 court appearance.

DUI Case

At about 7 pm April 3, police received a report of a red sport-utility vehicle traveling westward on Mt Pleasant Road that was striking objects alongside the road, including a mailbox at 79 Mt Pleasant Road.

After a search, police found a 1994 red GMC S-1500 SUV with front-end damage located at the Hawleyville commuter parking lot on Hawleyville Road driven by motorist Albert Paolozzi, 58, of Fairfield, police said.

Following an investigation, police charged Paolozzi with driving under the influence, evading responsibility, and failure to drive to the right.

After he posted $200 bail, police released Paolozzi for an April 25 court appearance.

DUI Accident

About 7:30 pm April 3, motorist Segundo Pomavilla, 47, of Danbury, who was driving a 1995 Ford Ranger pickup truck northward on South Main Street, near Simm Lane, crossed over into the southbound lane, went off the southbound road shoulder, and struck a group of trees

After investigating, police charged Pomavilla with driving under the influence and with making a restricted turn.

After he posted $60 bail, police released Pomavilla for an April 18 court appearance.

Toddy Hill

About 5:24 am April 3, motorist Cynthia Birkmaier, 48, of Oxford was driving a 2000 Chevrolet truck southward on Toddy Hill Road, when a deer entered the road and ran into the vehicle, after which the deer ran off, police said.

Birkmaier was not injured. Police took no enforcement.

Washington Avenue

  Motorist Justine Cardillo, 17, of Tanglewood Lane was driving a 1996 Audi sedan eastward on Washington Avenue about 7:40 am April 2, when the vehicle went off the right road shoulder and struck a mailbox and bush at 8 Washington Avenue, and then hit a utility pole, police said.

 Ambulance volunteers checked Cardillo at the scene for a pain complaint, police said. Police issued her an infraction ticket for making a restricted turn.

Main Street Collision

Police report a collision involving two Toyotas on Main Street at its intersection with Church Hill Road at about 5 pm April 3.

Northbound motorist Claire Yacashin, 51, of Hanover Road, who was driving a 2001 Toyota, slowed for traffic conditions and was struck from behind by northbound motorist Dianne Wolcott, 59, of Bridgewater, who was driving a 2003 Toyota, police said.

There were no injuries. Police issued Wolcott a written warning for following too closely.
