To the Editor:

It was with great sadness that my husband and I read your message to the readers of The Newtown Bee about putting the paper on “hopefully” just a temporary hold. The Newtown Bee and its other publications have been enjoyed by us since 1984 when we first moved to Newtown. We continue to subscribe, even though we have moved to Oxford, since our hearts are and will always be in Newtown. The Bee is a real treasure of the community and it will be such a loss to Newtown with its historical perspective, excellent coverage of town events, state issues. It was special to see what was happening every Friday and I am sure so many others feel the same.

Ron and I hope that once the pandemic begins to resolve the financial prospects will allow your well written community focused paper to once again thrive since it is such a part of the weekly cycle of life in a very special community.
