Municipal phone system lines are temporarily down.

According an email blast just issued by the Town of Newtown, Town phone lines are currently unable to receive incoming calls.

“The Town IT Department is working closely with technicians today, and resolving this remains a top priority.

“We apologize for the frustration this has caused and appreciate your patience as we work toward a solution," the email notes.

“HOWEVER 911 is NOT impacted," the email also states.

There are also two portable (landline) phones that can be used for routine matters: 203-270-0190 and 203-270-0194. Staff will answer those lines, according to the email.
