A Newtown man was arrested on four charges including for assault-related charges on April 16.

At approximately 5:55 pm, Newtown Police Department officers responded to a residence for the report of an assault. A criminal investigation resulted in the arrest of Adam Pratt, 38, of Sandy Hook.

Pratt was charged with second-degree strangulation, second-degree assault of elderly or special population, risk of injury to a child, and breach of peace.

Pratt was released on a $150,000 bond with a court date of April 17 at Danbury Superior Court.
