Newtown High School's tennis teams took on New Fairfield on April 21. The boys won 7-0 at Treadwell Park and the girls lost 6-1 on the road. For the girls, the top doubles tandem of Elle Musen and Ella Romano picked up a 7-6, 6-1 victory.

On the boys' courts, at top singles Frankie Cannizzo won 6-0, 6-1; at No 2 Aarev Shetty won 6-0, 6-0; No 3 Ryan Hislop won 6-1, 6-0; and No 4 Noah Breuing came out on top 6-1, 6-0. In doubles, the No 1 team of Cam Linnetz and Joe Mele and No 2 duo of Stephen Singlak and Dan Tzakas both won 6-1, 6-0, and the No 3 team of Ryan Gilman and Sean Conlin won 6-0, 6-0.

The teams, following matches against Joel Barlow of Redding on Wednesday, take on Immaculate of Danbury Monday, April 27 — the boys at Treadwell and girls on the road; both matches start at 3:45 pm.
