Marjorie E. Tardiff, 71, of Newtown, wife of Ronald Tardiff, Sr, died on Thursday, April 22, at Danbury Hospital.

Mrs Tardiff, a Newtown native, was born on March 19, 1950, a daughter of the late William and Grace Brown. She attended local schools and was a homemaker. In earlier years, Mrs Tardiff was associated with her mother when the family operated the Sandy Hook Diner. She enjoyed bowling and was a member of several woman’s leagues.

In addition to her husband of 56 years, she is survived by a daughter, Nicole Tardiff-Brooks; two sons, Ronald Tardiff, Jr, and John Tardiff; and by three grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs Tardiff was predeceased by a sister, Evelyn Dyke.

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, April 29, in the Grace Family Church of Newtown, 13 Covered Bridge Road, Newtown. Interment will follow in Zoar Cemetery, Newtown.

The family will receive friends at the Grace Family Church on Thursday from 10 to 11 am.
