Girls' Lacrosse Bounces Back From Defeats To Beat Bethel

Newtown High School's girls' lacrosse team bounced back from an 18-11 loss at New Fairfield on April 23 and an 11-3 setback at Fairfield Ludlowe on April 25 with an 18-5 win at Bethel on April 28.

Against New Fairfield, Emily Sachs made 15 saves. The scoring was led by Blake Heim-Sherwood, Natalie McLean, and Sara Ruddy. Defense standouts were Audrey McLean, Kayla Locke, Delia Stango, and Madi Weston.

In the loss to Ludlowe, the same group again played well on defense and Sachs made 13 saves. Heim-Sherwood and Gabby O'Sullivan had goals.

Sachs made six saves and Nailah Hopson Peters made two saves against Bethel. Goals were scored by McLean, Ruddy, Heim-Sherwood, Olivia Verdi, O'Sullivan, Sadie Singlak, and Stango. Elise Ansman was star on the draw, and the defense unit was led by Locke, McLean, Singlak, Weston, and Cam Stewart.
