Clips from the documentaries Revival: Work of God and American Gospel: Christ Alone will play at the movie theater of Edmond Town Hall, 45 Main Street, on Friday, May 12, at 6:30 pm.

The movie event is free, open to the public, and will offer some raffle items right before the clips begin.

The concession stand will be open for snacks and drinks but permission has been granted from the town hall to bring your own snacks and drinks if you prefer.

The introduction of Revival offers viewers an understanding of what God has done through past true revivals. A brief look at John Bunyan’s impact in Bedford, England will be examined, drawing connections from the previous movie event, a screening of Pilgrim’s Progress.

Released in 2022, Revival follows Jeremy Walker on a journey through church history, from Pentecost to the present day, exploring the dynamic and sovereign work of God in his people and in nations. Walker visits key places and periods such as England during the Reformation, America in 1734, Wales in the Evangelical Awakening, Northern Ireland in 1859, and the Scottish Hebrides in 1949.

Expert contributors share key lessons about the means and instruction the Lord provides in his Word for seeking him.

Presented by Walker, the film features Geoff Thomas, Ian Hamilton, Joel Beeke, Sinclair Ferguson, Steven Lawson, Stuart Olyott, and many more.

The final portion of the movie event will be a 40-minute chapter of the eye-opening documentary American Gospel: Christ Alone. The first in a series, the 2018 film asks: does Christianity mean Christ plus the American dream?

American Gospel examines how the prosperity gospel (the Word of Faith movement) has distorted the gospel message, and how this theology is being exported abroad.

This will be the final movie event in a recent series of events organized by Jesse Rebar at Edmond Town Hall.

“The best has truly been saved for last,” said Rebar. “With information this important, you won’t want to miss out.”

Reservations are appreciated, and additional information is available by contacting Rebar at jesserebar@gmail.com.

A series of film events in recent months coordinated by Jesse Rebar will conclude with segments of two documentaries being screened.
