More Than 100 Attend Chamber Event

The Newtown Chamber of Commerce co-hosted a business after hours event with the Monroe Chamber of Commerce at The Waterview on Route 34 in Monroe, on Wednesday, April 27. The function was sponsored by People’s Bank, which has various branches throughout Newtown and Monroe.

More than 100 chamber members attended the event.

“It is the role of our chamber to foster opportunities for our members to grow their businesses. I have seen relationships nurture and grow through functions like these and will continue to work with the Monroe Chamber and with other organizations to expand the networks of our members,” said Pat Linnell, Newtown Chamber president.

“There is a natural chemistry between the towns. I can see opportunity for business development and will encourage the planning of more frequent combined chamber events in the future,” commented Monroe Chamber President John Dry.

The Waterview is a new 44,000-square-foot catering facility with wraparound decks and picturesque views overlooking Lake Zoar. The annual bichamber event was very well-attended by more than 100 local business leaders including members from both the Newtown and Monroe Chambers.
