Michael Zinn, 95, of Stratford, beloved husband of the late Jane Drew Zinn, died May 4 in Bridgeport Hospital. A retired driver for Burritt Lumber Company, he was born in Detroit to Bessie (Fedina) and Jack Zinn.

Survivors include his sisters Irene Scosta of Newtown, Mildred Hwozdek of Pennsylvania, and Polly Dwinells of Bethel and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his beloved wife and parents, a sister, Sophie Brady, and a brother, Joseph Zinn, predeceased Mr Zinn.

He moved with his family to the Zinn Family Farm in Danbury at the age of 2, and remained a lifelong farmer and gardener.

He was a World War II veteran of the US Army, serving in the 3rd Battalion 84th Division, of the 343rd Infantry, on the front line during the Battle of the Bulge, where he received a Bronze Star.

Funeral services will take place Thursday, May 8, at 9:15 am, in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford, and at 10 am, in St Mark Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with full military honors will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call Wednesday, May 7, from 5 to 7 pm.
