Vincent Cicchesi, Sr, age 78, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 3, 2020 at Somers Manor Nursing Center in Somers, N.Y. Born in the Bronx, he was the son of the late Ottaviano and Yolanda Cicchesi.

Vinny, although most people knew him as Vinny Mo, was proud to have been born, raised, and lived nearly most of his entire life in New York. In his earlier years, Vinny was a Master Baker in both New York and Connecticut and helped to set up one of the first frozen pastry lines to be implemented into supermarkets. He semi-retired to Brooklyn and worked security for Victory Memorial Hospital.

Vinny was known for his love of sports, especially baseball, where his favorite team was the New York Yankees. You would always find him wearing Yankee apparel and accessories right up until his last days on earth. Vinny had a charming personality and a warm smile, which resonated well with the ladies. In fact, he continued his flirtatious ways while living in the nursing home and was quite the ladies’ man.

He was a kindhearted soul and was always willing to help a friend or family in need. He was best known for his catch phrases such as, “How you doing,” or “What it is.” He was truly larger than life and lived every moment to the fullest. One of the most treasured memories we will have of our father, is how he grew stronger in his faith with the Lord through the guidance of his youngest son, David.

Above all, his greatest role in life was that of being a father and a grandfather. His two grandchildren filled a space in his heart he never knew existed. One of his fondest memories he would often talk about, was how much fun he had taking them to Nellie Bly Amusement Park in Brooklyn, where he had taken his children when they were the same age.

His memory will continue to live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him and he will be deeply missed by all.

Vinny was predeceased by his parents Ottaviano and Yolanda, and is survived by his three children and spouses, Dawn Marie and Dan Whittington, Vincent, Jr and Lisa Cicchesi, and David and Pamela Cicchesi; and two grandchildren, Kristina Marie Sullivan and Jordan Dane Cicchesi; as well as his two beloved siblings and spouses Mary and Dino Nicoletti and Edward and Linda Cicchesi; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A live stream funeral will be held at St Rose of Lima Church, Newtown, on Thursday, May 14, 2020, at 10 am. Family and friends are invited to participate.
