With support from the CT Humanities and funding provided by the Connecticut State Department of Economic and Community Development/Connecticut Office of the Arts from the Connecticut State Legislature, Newtown Arts Festival and Newtown Cultural Arts Commission (NCAC) have released new logos and a revamped website for Newtown Arts Festival (newtownartsfestival.com).

Now in its tenth year, Newtown Arts Festival supports local musicians, performers and artisans, and raises funds for scholarships and grants awarded to Newtown students and artists.

The 2022 Festival is set for September 16-18 on the grounds of Fairfield Hills.

Newtown resident Linda Parsloe, owner and creative director of CONAWAYdesign, designed the arts festival logo.

NCAC Chair Laura Lerman told The Newtown Bee this week that she and the Town’s cultural arts commission expect to use the new logo for many years. Earlier this year it was announced that resident Ryan Patrick had created a logo specific to this year’s festival.

“Ryan did the signature art,” Lerman explained. Local artists have provided different art for each of the previous festival presentations.

“This is the first time we have had an arts festival logo. We are hoping the logo gives us continuity,” Lerman added.

Newtown resident Nancy Cole, a graphic designer, created the new NCAC logo.

The new arts festival website was designed by Festival chairman Barbara Snyder in collaboration with Park Group Solutions in Newtown.

“I feel so fortunate to have such great talent available to us,” Snyder noted. “Linda Parsloe and Nancy Cole are both first rate graphic artists and the logos reflect that fact.”
