DANBURY — Ann’s Place has issued a call to artists.

“Lives Interrupted: art by those affected by cancer” will be an exhibition hosted by Ann’s Place cancer support services agency in Danbury. The exhibition will feature work that reflects the artist’s experience with cancer, either as a survivor or as a caretaker to a loved one who is affected by cancer.

Anyone age 18 and up, living in western Connecticut or the Hudson Valley, N.Y., can submit work. Works should address the artist’s experience with cancer.

Accepted mediums include, but are not limited to, oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, charcoal, pen and ink, graphite, collage, photographic prints, and mixed media. No freestanding sculpture. Artwork must be original, and all artwork accepted for the exhibition must be ready for display. Maximum entry size is 36 by 36 inches.

For the full prospectus, visit www.annsplace.org or email robbie@annsplace.org. Deadline to submit works for consideration is May 19. Final selections will be made by May 23. Work will need to be delivered to Ann’s Place (delivered in person, not shipped) between May 27 and May 30.

An opening reception is planned for Thursday, June 5, from 6 to 9 pm.  The show will run alternating Saturdays and Sundays: Saturdasys, June 14 and 28, and Sundays, June 8 and 22.

Artists will need to pick up their art between June 30 and July 2. Work that is accepted into the show cannot be picked up before June 30.
