John Paul Tucci, 68, of Sandy Hook, passed away unexpectedly on May 12, 2020. John was born in New York City to Paul and Berta Tucci on February 29, 1952.

He graduated from Riverdale Country School in The Bronx, N.Y. and went on to study at Washington University in Saint Louis where he earned his MBA. John worked in sales and marketing for over 40 years at a range of global tech companies, most recently with Canon, where he retired in 2018.

John loved spending time with family and friends. He was the light and laugh of the room and never hesitated to tell you a good joke. John especially loved capturing these moments with photography. He was always behind the camera, solidifying each special occasion with a candid pic or professionally posed shot. In his new retirement, John gained a new love in the game of Bridge. He always bragged about his new skill and achievement of newly earned Master Points. 206 to be exact!

John is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Lynn; his furbaby Samson; his sister Brenda Tucci of Delray Beach, Fla.; his nephew Max Ascuitto and wife, Yvonne, of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; his sister-in-law Lori Hoyt and husband, Robert, of Norwalk; his niece Lisa Roos of Stratford; his nephews Garvin L. John was predeceased by his parents; and sister, Andrea Tucci.

A private funeral service will be held on Friday, May 15. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, a public memorial celebration in John’s honor will be held at a future date.

The family has entrusted funeral arrangements to Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown.
