Along with Newtown Congregational Church, the Newtown Lions Club will cosponsor a Red Cross Blood Drive, Tuesday, June 2, from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm, at the 14 West Street church.

According to Red Cross, “Donating blood products is essential to community health and the need for blood products is constant. As part of our nation’s critical infrastructure, healthy individuals can still donate in areas that have issued shelter in place declarations... There is no known end date in this fight against coronavirus and the Red Cross needs the help of blood and platelet donors and blood drive hosts to maintain a sufficient blood supply for weeks to come.”

COVID-19 safety protocols, wearing of face masks and social distancing, will be in place at the blood drive.
