Newtown Seniors Hit The Floor For Annual Spring Fling

On Friday, April 24, Newtown Senior Center and Newtown Parks and Recreation Department presented a “Spring Fling” dinner dance at Newtown High School. Dinner was provided by the Newtown High School Culinary Department. Dinner consisted of poached chicken in a creamy lemon tarragon sauce, dilled baby red potatoes, roasted carrots, rolls and butter, and a salad with a lemon honey vinaigrette dressing. A delicious, celebratory cake was also provided. Music for the evening was provided by the ever-popular DJ Matthew Ames. The music played included country line dancing, Latin dance tunes, rock and roll, and popular hits. Dozens of guests attended the event.

DJ Matthew Ames (center) provided the music for the night. He provided dance lessons for the group during the night to ensure everyone could enjoy the throwback evening.
