New Vet Joins Newtown Animal Medical Center

 J. Chris Mixon, DVM, and the staff of Newtown Animal Medical Center (NAMC) have announced that Lindsey K. Westerfield, DVM, has accepted the position of associate veterinarian.

A Redding native and 2007 graduate of Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr Westerfield joined NAMC as an intern in July of that year and advanced to her present position in April 2008. She is looking forward to meeting and caring for many of the NAMC patients.

“I’m very excited to be part of a veterinary practice that puts the patients first,” says Dr Westerfield. Her qualifications and clinical experience enable her to provide the full range of diagnostic, medical, and surgical services offered by the clinic. “My internship here provided me with many opportunities to expand my technical skills and knowledge and has helped make me a better veterinarian,” she continued.

With a reputation for delivering compassionate care through the use of advanced veterinary practices, Newtown Animal Medical Center provides area pets with total wellness and dental exams and treatment, orthopedic, soft tissue and elective surgery, immunizations, microchipping, senior care, parasite control, and compassionate passing. In addition, Drs Mixon and Westerfield offer pet owners information about maintaining their pets’ physical, social and emotional health between veterinarian visits.

Newtown Animal Medical Center is at 98 South Main Street and online at newtownamc.com. Office hours are Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm, Wednesday until 7 pm, and Saturday from 8 am to 1 pm. The telephone number is 426-2777.
