Business background: After graduating from trade school, Kevin Alves gained a lot of experience working primarily in residential settings while employed by a small company in Waterbury before moving to another company in Wilton. During that time, he developed skills and the knowledge to work in both older and new homes. He also has handled some commercial electrical work, and set up his new commercial office on South Main Street in April 2021.

Business focus: Besides a full range of electrician services and emergency on-call response, Alves is also a Generac generator affiliate, handling sales, installations and maintenance for that globally recognized brand. Alves considers himself very well rounded in that he has worked in homes of all ages and sizes, and he is particularly interested in problem solving for customers with challenging projects.

Important to know: Once Alves entered his electrician’s apprenticeship, he envisioned opening his own company. After obtaining his commercial contractor’s license he launched that company from his Sandy Hook home. He is happy to handle small projects, general electrical service work, service upgrades, and full home generator installations (except related plumbing and fuel supply work). He has remained busy serving repeat clients along with many others coming his way via word of mouth. “A lot of electricians aren’t as interested in tackling work in older homes, but I did a lot of that kind of work in both greater Waterbury and in Fairfield County,” he told The Newtown Bee.
