George Albert Kozak, age 87, of Sandy Hook, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by family, on May 29. He was born February 4, 1934.

He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Helen Kozak, and his son Kenneth Kozak, of Waterbury, Connecticut.

He will be missed by his daughter, Lori Clark, and her husband, Patrick, of Center Harbor, N.H.; son Gary Kozak of Sandy Hook; daughter-in-law, Jenny Kozak, of Waterbury; and his grandchildren, Jennifer and Jason Kozak of Waterbury, Kenneth Kozak of Massachusetts, and Ryan and Patrick Clark.

George was a proud veteran of the United States Army and proudly served two years with Company D of the Signal Corps at Kaiserslautern, Germany, in 1957 and 1958. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.

George spent 24 years working at Fabric Fire Hose in Sandy Hook and retired from the Newtown Board of Education as a custodian.

A graveside service with full military honors will be conducted Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 10:30 am, in St Rose Cemetery, 20 Cherry Street, Sandy Hook. There are no calling hours.

Funeral arrangements are in care of Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown.
