The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN) will have the internationally known artist Adele Moros demonstrating watercolor landscape painting at its meeting on Wednesday, June 11. The meeting will begin at 7:30 pm, in the lower meeting room of Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street (at the flagpole).

The demonstration is open to the public. Admission is free.

Adele Moros is a multi-media artist with a background in fashion illustration. In her family everyone painted, and she always knew she would be an artist.

In 2000 her Tiffany Cow, auctioned for charity, raised $60,000 at the New York City Cow Parade. Slides of that cow are in the permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, and are used in their lectures on Tiffany.

Since then she has also designed Hearts for Danbury Hospital, and additional cows for Boston and New Haven Cows on Parade events. Two of those cows are now in Japan.

Ms Moros has created several outdoor pieces for Stamford. Her faux stained glass porto-potty created for an advertisement campaign was called “a show stopper” by Jim Bishoff of The Newark Star Ledger.

Ms Moros is a Fellow with the International Guild of Miniature Artisans. Several of her one-inch scale paintings are included in the Browning collection of the Toy and Miniature Museum of Kentucky. Her paintings both large and small are included in more than 600 public, corporate and private collections.

Ms studied at the Phoenix School, Parsons and Silvermine, and with numerous well known painters including Daniel Greene, Barbara Goodspeed, Richard Ochs, and Larry Newquist.
