Mad Dash Adventure Run Is June 13

Newtown Parks and Recreation Department and NYA Sports & Fitness Center announce the Mad Dash Adventure Race will be held on Saturday, June 13, with the first flight commencing at 8:30 am. All courses will begin and end within Fairfield Hills.

The fourth annual Mad Dash offers the ultimate in fitness adventure in which participants run, jump, crawl, carry, and climb their way through the scenic Fairfield Hills Campus, utilizing both its natural topography as well as manmade structures. This fun but challenging course includes physical challenges, running, and skilled events.

Participants may choose from four levels: Mini Dash (ages 5 and older), the Beginner/Family (8 and older), Superhero (Firefighters, Police Department, EMT, Search and Rescue, etc), and Advanced (14 and older).

The Mini Dash will allow young children the ability to participate in a shortened version of the race finishing in the mud pit.

The Beginner/Family course will have significantly less running and modified challenges and is designed for families and intermediate fitness enthusiasts.

The Advanced course will test even the most-seasoned athlete with a more difficult run component and challenges.

Adult registration is $35, children (8-17) $25, and Mini Dash children (5-8) $15.

Cost for teams of ten is $250. Superhero teams of six registration is available for $125. Full team registrations will only be accepted with all participants registering in attendance at the Newtown Parks & Recreation office located at 3 Main Street.

All team members must run in same division. There is no team registration on the day of the race. The 11th team member and beyond pays the full individual rate. Children 8–13 years old. may participate along with a parent and are limited to running the family course.
