Masonicare Announces 2015 Summer Sounds Concerts

For the 29th consecutive year, Masonicare at Newtown will sponsor free Summer Sounds concerts on its grounds at 139 Toddy Hill Road. 

Area residents are invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy a variety of musical performances given by many of the area’s most popular bands. All concerts will begin at 7 pm. In case of inclement weather, rain dates are listed below.

The season will open on Wednesday, June 17, with The Berkshire Big Band performing music of the 30s, 40s, and 50s (rain date June 18).

It will continue on Wednesday, July 8, with The 42nd Street Band (rock, blues, and jazz; rain date July 9); Wednesday, July 22, The Larry Ayce Band featuring Doreen Marie (rain date July 23); and Tuesday, July 28, The Frank Porto Band (music of the 30s and 40s; rain date July 29).

This year’s series will then conclude on Wednesday, August 5, with a performance by  The Big Beat Band, offering music of the 50s and 60s. Rain date will be August 6.
