The month of June is known for so many things … the first day of summer, Father’s Day, high school graduations, and for the past 74 years, the Lathrop School of Dance Stardust Revue presented on the stage of Edmond Town Hall Theatre. These are all things one can count on.

The Lathrop dance family, led by Tamra Saric, starts working in September to prepare for LSOD’s annual Stardust Revue. Weeks and months seem to last forever, then suddenly June arrives and all the hard work over the past ten months comes together in one weekend. Dancers aged 3 to adults, who don't reveal their age, showcase their talents on stage for family and friends.

This past weekend, four performances of the 74th Stardust Revue were offered, with dancers excited to perform and show their talents on the historic stage. What a success it was once again.

Emcee Bill Caron said it best, stating, “Miss Tamra elevates the show every year, reaching another level with spectacular dedication and determination." Saric and her dedicated faculty work hard to bring out the best in LSOD’s dancers.

Families who annually attend the Stardust Revue have seen LSOD dancers mature and grow into their tap, ballet, jazz, and energetic hip-hop numbers. This year, from little ducks wiggling their feathers to LSOD Stardusters performing a kick dance dedicated to the centennial of the Rockettes, and all the dance numbers in between, the audience witnessed synchronized taps, a hip-hop clapping drumline that morphed into an energized routine, beautiful ballet, and contemporary performances that emotionally drew the audience on stage with the dancers as they moved in unison through dramatically choreographed routines.

This year, smiles lit the stage, exuberating the energy, joy, and fun the dancers were having as they performed. From pre-school, elementary, middle, and high school students to the well-known LSOD Stardusters and Divas, these dancers once again performed “the best show ever!”

Dancers ranging from those just learning coordinated steps to some who have been performing together for decades all had time under the lights when Lathrop School of Dance presented its 74th Stardust Revue.
