It is that time of year - time to enroll in the Rising Stars Summer Basketball League, which will be entering its fourth season. The league has gotten better and more competitive each year and the 2002 season promises to be the best yet.

It is that time of year – time to enroll in the Rising Stars Summer Basketball League, which will be entering its fourth season. The league has gotten better and more competitive each year and the 2002 season promises to be the best yet.

Note –

+ Rising Stars is looking for boys entering grades 6 to 9 and includes all travel and in-town players.

+ There will be a schedule of 10 to 12 games, with playoffs and All Star games, that will allow for summer vacations as well as baseball, soccer, football and whatever other activities players might have this summer.

+ Several parents have volunteered to coach with Newtown High School players assisting and scorekeeping.

+ All games will be refereed by a certified ref.

+ All games will be played at Treadwell Park beginning the week of July 8. A pre-season clinic will be held with coach John Quinn and Newtown High School varsity players.

+ Each player will receive a Rising Star t-shirt.

+ Applications are located in the Newtown Park and Recreation summer bulletin (Code #41020A). Fee is $63 per player.
