American Legion Post 202 Officers Sworn In For 2026-27

American Legion Post 202 held its installation ceremony for newly appointed officers on June 3 at Newtown Senior Center.

The appointments will run from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027.

Michael Kellett, American Legion department commander for the state of Connecticut, served as the officiant.

The newly sworn in American Legion Post 202 officers are Donna A. Monteleone, commander and District 3 chaplain; Martin J. Foncello Jr, senior vice commander; Robert D. Payne III, junior vice commander; Samuel S. Grummons, finance officer and Sons of the American Legion Squadron 202 adjutant; Michael Neiman, sergeant-at-arms; Tara Carr, adjutant; Robert Ellis, assistant adjutant; Robert L. Harris, chaplain; Christine Calabrese, assistant chaplain; and Walter Dolan, the post’s newly trained Veteran Service officer whose role will be to help veterans in the community.

Monteleone noted it is “always a special time when officers are inducted for the new year.

“Having the Department Commander give the oath of office was very special for us all. Mike Kellett has a long history with Post 202, and it was an honor to have him come and be with us that evening,” the commander added.
