The Rising Star Summer Basketball League will hold its first clinic of the season on Monday, July 8, at 6 pm, at Treadwell Park.
The Rising Star Summer Basketball League will hold its first clinic of the season on Monday, July 8, at 6 pm, at Treadwell Park.
All players interested in playing summer basketball (even those who have not yet registered) in the Rising Star League should attend the free clinic being presented by John Quinn, Newtown High School boysâ varsity coach.
The clinic will run for 90 minutes. Rain date will be Wednesday, July 10, at 6 pm
Coach Quinn will be demonstrating conditioning and ball handling drills, as well as providing an overview of offensive and defensive fundamentals. At the conclusion of the clinic, he will distribute team rosters and league schedules. For those who cannot attend the clinic, a phone chain will follow with league particulars.
League play will begin the week of July 15, with two games per week. League playoffs and an All Star game are set for the end of the season. All players entering grades 6 through 9 are eligible to participate. Registration forms will be available at the clinic (fee for the summer season is $63.
