Three Vehicles

Police report a three-vehicle accident on Washington Avenue, near its intersection with Pearl Street, about 12:06 pm June 21.

Motorist Celeste Cheung, 17, of 114 Lakeview Terrace was driving a 2000 Nisan X-Terra SUV northward on Washington Avenue, when the Nissan struck the rear end of a stopped 2000 Toyota Sienna minivan driven by Brooke Leifels, 17, of 8 Hedge Meadow Lane, police said.

That impact pushed the Toyota into the rear end of a stopped 2008 Acura MDX SUV driven by Mallorie Dunn, 16, of 2 Old Mill Road, police said.

Cheung received an injury in the accident, police said. Police report they gave Cheung an infraction for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart. Police said they issued Dunn an infraction for a driver’s license violation.

Collision

Police report a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Walnut Tree Hill Road and Haley Lane about 7:10 pm on June 28.

Motorist Ernest Kone, 52, of Bronx, N.Y., who was driving a 2006 Subaru sedan, stopped on Haley Lane at its intersection with Walnut Tree Hill Road, police said. At that time, motorist Shaun Mangold, 17, of 49 Butterfield Road was driving a 1997 Honda CRV carrying one passenger northward on Walnut Tree Hill Road and was approaching its intersection with Haley Lane, police said.

The Subaru then entered the intersection, resulting in a collision between the two vehicles, police said. There were no injuries.

Police said they gave Kone a written warning for failure to grant the right of way. Police said they issued Mangold an infraction concerning passenger restrictions on young drivers.

Warrant

Police said that at about 7:30 pm on June 28, they went to the home of Patrick Brady, 52, of 13 Papoose Hill Road to serve an arrest warrant against him in connection with a May 28 incident that occurred at his residence.

Police said that through the court warrant, they charged Brady with interfering with police, misuse of the Emergency 911 system, reckless endangerment, possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, breach of peace, and criminal attempt to assault a police officer. Police said that the June 28 arrest of Brady occurred without incident.

Police said that the charges against Brady stem from the May 28 incident in which police responded to the residence in connection with a 911 hang-up call there. At that time, Brady became physically combative and attempted to bite a police officer during a struggle, police said. Also, police said they found a large knife in Brady’s vehicle.

Following processing on June 28, police released Brady on $2,500 bail for a July 12 court appearance.
