James Marusi scored seven times, but the Falcons fell, 13-9, to the Eagles in the Newtown Youth Lacrosse Association’s Bantam Division. Here are all the results:

 

Senior Girls

Senior Blue 11, Redding 4 – Lisa Isabella made 12 saves in goal, stopping five direct penalty shots in the process, and Lauren Clark had three goals and an assist to lead the Senior Blue over previously undefeated Redding. Libby Feltch had two goals and an assist, Carolyn Gingras and Lauren Sudbey scored a pair each, Hannah Tenenbaum and Courtney Gleason had single goals, and Betsy Vendel had two assists to round out the scoring. Jen O’Connell, Hannah Glasrud, Bethany Morin, and Molly Murtha were outstanding on defense, holding Redding to a single goal in the second half.

Senior Gold 4, Redding 4 – Krystal Perrotti, Meagan Kelly, Sarah Cioffoletti, and Libby Feltch scored single goals for the Gold and Rachel Rockwell had three saves in the cage in the tie against Redding.

Senior Gold 7, Glastonbury 3 – Krystal Perrotti scored three goals and Madeline Graham, Meagan Kelly, and Betsy Vendel chipped in with a goal apiece with Sarah Cioffoletti adding a goal and an assist to lead the Gold over Glastonbury. Lisa Isabella had eight saves in goal and Michele Siladi, Stephanie Paproski, and Erin Nemeth combined to grab 12 ground balls.

East Lyme 4, Senior Gold 0 – Rachel Roskwell made five saves in goal and Caroline Kraich, Keegan Frobey, and Devon Ferris combined to pick up 13 ground balls in the tough loss to East Lyme.

Clinton 8, Senior Gold 5 – Courtney Gleason scored two goals and Marnie Thompson and Meagan Kelly added single goals with Krystal Perrotti chipping in with a goal and an assist in the loss to Clinton. Caroline Kraich grabbed five ground balls and Rachel Rockwell had four saves in goal.

Bantam Boys

Blue Devils 10, Green Machine 7 – Daniel Hebert scored three goals and Kyle Hagerman and Justin Brophy scored a pair each to lead the Blue Devils over the Green Machine. Ted Benoit, Kory Kling, and Mike Daubert contributed single goals with outstanding help on defense and ground balls from Zach Carfi and Roland Stephen. Christian Mather led the Machine with three goals with Matt Vavrek scoring twice and Gabe Ruiz and Griffin Paynter adding single goals. Mason Page and Matt White combined to grab 12 ground balls.

Eagles 13, Falcons 9 – Parker Rodbell had five goals and an assist and Christian Sayegh added three goals to lead the Eagles over the Falcons. Patrick Milano added a pair of goals, Mike Fitzsimons had a goal and an assist, Chris Arnone and Noah Sock contributed a goal apiece and Tyler Gregory had an assist to round out the scoring. James Marusi led the Falcons with seven goals with single goals coming from Stefan Hennessey and Nick Fatse.

Sea Gulls 15, Lightning 8 – Greg Frattaroli made 11 saves in goal and Will Fletcher scored four to lead the Sea Gulls over the Lightning. Andrew Cebry had three goals and an assist, Michael Lord and Wyatt Depuy had two goals and an assist each, Tim Ciavara and Jimmy Mooney had two goals apiece, and Jack Wilson contributed an assist to round out the scoring. Connor Quinn led the Lightning with five goals, Brendan McNamara had a goal and an assist, and Peter Kerns and Brian Johnson added single goals.

Green Machine 14, Falcons 7 – Stefan Dullinger scored four goals and the Green Machine got two goals apiece from Tom Bauer, Christian Mather, Matt Vavrek, Gabe Ruiz, and Griffin Paynter in the win over the Falcons. Thomas Harrison and Matt White had assists with Corey Fisher grabbing seven ground balls. James Marusi led the Falcons with four goals with single goals coming from Brian Kruger, Alec Beauchemin, and Nick Fatse. Jack Curry chipped in with an assist and the Falcons got a great defensive effort from Mike Cascone and Brennan Merrick.

Lightning 11, Eagles 9 – Brendan McNamara has three goals and three assists and Conor Quinn scored four times to lead the Lightning over the Eagles. Cody Ryan had 3 goals and Keenan Bennett scored once with Art Fredericks and Ryan Crowell combining to make 11 saves in goal. Nick Crudo, Nick Pedalino, and Paolo Moscovici had great all around games. Michael Fitzsimons scored four goals and Parker Rodbell had three and an assist to lead the Eagles. Chris Arnone and Doug Pierce scored goals with Noah Sock, Nick McKay, and Blake Schwartz-Untiedt leading the defense.

Sea Gulls 10, Blue Devils 9 (2OT) – Will Fletcher scored with one second left in regulation to send the game into overtime and Andrew Cebry scored three goals, including the game winner in double overtime, to lead the Sea Gulls over the Blue Devils. Greg Frattaroli was outstanding goal, making 14 saves including several key stops in the overtime periods. Michael Lord scored three goals, Wyatt Depuy has two goals and an assist, and Jimmy Mooney added a single goal to round out the scoring. Luke Sherwood and Tim Ciavara combined to grab 11 ground balls. Justin Brophy scored five goals and Ted Benoit added two to lead the Blue Devils. Roland Stephen and Kyle Hagerman scored a goal apiece and Dan Hebert added an assist. Anders Folgelberg had a great all around game and Zach Carfi and Benoit combined to make nine saves in goal.

Sea Gulls 14, Falcons 7 – Michael Lord had five goals and two assists and Will Fletcher and Wyatt Depuy scored three times each in the win over the Falcons. Greg Frattaroli made 11 saves in goal and Luke Sherwood grabbed six ground balls. James Marusi scored four goals for the Falcons, Brian Kruger scored twice, and Brennan Merrick had a goal. Jack Curry had two assists and Nick Fatse dished off one. Mike Cascone was terrific on defense and Evan Isaacs made six saves in goal.
