Program

For Beginning Women Farmers

Connecticut Natural and Organic Farmers announces that the USDA has provided funding for beginning women farmers in Connecticut to learn more about whole farm planning in a “Beginning Farmer Program” developed specifically for women.

The program will consist of one-on-one mentorships, on-farm field days, business planning seminars, and inclusion in a network of women farmers.

The next on-farm workshop in this series is “Integrating Livestock on Your Farm,” Saturday, July 10, at Millstone Farm in Wilton. This session runs from 9 am to 4 pm, and lunch is provided.

This workshop is open to prospective beginning women farmers in and around Connecticut who may be interested, and to also find other women interested in the future sessions.

Contact 203-888-5146 or e-mail ctnofa@ctnofa.org for details. Space is limited to 15 participants, and registrants must be confirmed as soon as possible.
