The Newtown Chamber of Commerce is continuing to host free monthly networking events open to all local business professionals.

The next event will be held at Sal e Pepe Contemporary Italian Bistro, 97 South Main Street, on Wednesday, July 8, from 8 to 9 am. The guest speaker is Lucille Harriman of Wells Fargo Bank.

Ms Harriman’s presentation, titled “Preparing for the ‘Chip’ — What Your Business Needs to Know About Payment Processing,” will explain the upcoming federally mandated changes to credit card processing.

Ms Harriman is a 30-year veteran of the banking industry and is currently the community banking district manager for greater Danbury. She manages ten banking stores and oversees a team of 100 bankers, tellers, and store managers.

This presentation will show guests what businesses need to do to prepare for the new credit card chip, as well as addressing preparation for the changing payroll tax laws.

Light refreshments will be served. This breakfast networking session is sponsored by Newtown Chamber of Commerce and is part of a series held on the second Wednesday of each month.

Those interested in being considered for guest speaking can call 203-426-9193. There is no charge to attend this event and reservations are not necessary.
