Kids’ Fun At Sherman Fair

SHERMAN — Children will have their own craft, game and play area at the 114th Sherman Church Country Fair on Saturday, July 18, from 10 am to 3 pm, on the church grounds at 6 Church Road.

There will be a special craft for boys and one for girls, and church members and teens will be on hand to instruct and encourage play in several Colonial era games such as hoops, marbles, graces, and an obstacle race. For $2 a child, kids will be able to do the craft project and play games as long as they like.

There will also be face painting, nail polishing and a sand art table in addition to hay rides for the family and pony rides for kids at different areas at the fair. Strawberry shortcake will be the featured dessert as well as ice cream to follow a lunch of bratwurst and sauerkraut at the Wurst Hut.

The fair will also offer homebaked goodies and homemade craft items. Antiques and collectibles will be on sale at the tag sale in the church basement, and all proceeds go to Sherman Community Relief.

Crafters will set up under their own tents in the yard, and local civic organizations will have informative displays.  Antique and family heirloom quilts will be displayed in the sanctuary, a new selection each year for quilt-lovers.

For further information, call the church at 860-354-6114.
