A perfect season came to a perfect finish for Union Savings in the Newtown Babe Ruth Softball U10 division.

Union Savings defeated Century 21, 10-9, to capture the U10 championship last week and finish the 2003 season undefeated.

In the win, Ally Modzelewski pitched a solid game, whiffing nine batters in four innings of work. Stephanie Suhoza was strong behind the plate while Nicole Elias, Rachel Camejo, Kristen Tanner and Emily Rowe combined for score eight runs.

Megan Condon had the key hit for Union Savings. Riley Cameron, Maggie Atkinson, Shannon Barra and Caitlin D’eramo played well in the field.

The champs reached the finals with a 19-13 win over Burton Builders in the semi-finals. Camejo banged out a three-run triple while Barra, Riley and Rowe combined for score seven runs. Modzelewski and Elias pitched well.
