James A. Pace, Sr

James A. Pace, Sr, of James Street, Danbury, devoted husband of Margaret (Picone) Pace, died June 29 at Danbury Hospital at the age of 85.

Mr Pace was born in Bronx, N.Y., son of the late Pasquale and Stefanina (Cincimino) Pace.

Besides his loving wife of 61 years, Margaret, he is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Ottoshavett of Newtown; his son, James A. Pace, Jr, and his wife, Donna, of Danbury; five grandchildren, Joseph J. and Paul Lostocco, Lori Kovacs, James A. Pace III, and Danielle Pace. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Michael and Nicole Lostocco and C.J. Kovacs; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Gloria Lostocco, and a sister, Mary Pace.

Mr Pace was a veteran of World War II, serving two tours of duty with the United States Army. His first tour was with the 18th Infantry, 1st Division, and second with the 1264 Engineering Battalion in Frankfort, Germany. He later worked in the maintenance division for Danbury Savings and Loan.

Mr Pace was a past member of the Catholic War Veterans. He enjoyed sports and was an avid Yankee fan.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated July 2 at St Gregory the Great Church, Danbury. Burial was in St Peter Cemetery.

Cornell Memorial Home was in charge of arrangements.
