Richard Dachenhausen

Devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend, and pastor, Richard Dachenhausen, 68, died July 4. He was born January 29, 1947, in Danbury, and was a son of the late Mr and Mrs Everett Dachenhausen of Redding.

In addition to his beloved wife of 37 years, Pastor Barbara Dachenhausen, four brothers, Robert of Newtown, Ernie of Georgia, Jerry and Joanne of Newtown, and Alex and Jaqueline of Sandy Hook; a daughter, Sharon, and son-in-law John Vlacich, a son, Bob, and daughter-in-law Laurie Rzasa, and a son, Joseph, and daughter-in-law Mary Rzasa; grandchildren Christa Guillette, Joseph, Kenneth, and Richard Rzasa, Kaitlyn, Danielle, and Joshua Rzasa, Rachel Frasier, and Joshua and Michelle Vlacich; and his beloved dog survive Mr Dachenhausen.

He was a 1965 graduate of Joel Barlow High School, Redding, and served in the Army 4th Infantry Division, Artillery, during the Vietnam War.

Mr Dachenhausen owned and operated R. Dachenhausen Construction and Tree Service in Brookfield, since 1978. He was the senior pastor and founder of The Burning Bush Church at 233 White Street, in Danbury, along with his loving wife.

The Dachenhausens were passionate about their ministry and outreach in humanitarian services locally in Danbury, and they had been on mission trips in Guadalupe, Germany, France, and Martinique to spread the gospel of Jesus. They have a satellite church in Paris, France. Closest to their hearts was Operation Exodus USA, a Christian Ministry that helps return Jewish people to Israel.

A memorial service will take place at Umpawaug Cemetery, 149 Umpawaug Road, Redding, on Thursday, July 9, at 11 am.
