Thomas M. Burns

Thomas M. Burns, 53, of Windsor died at his home July 5, with his loving family by his side. He was a son of Jean Mayernik Burns of Shelton and the late Daniel Edward Burns.

In addition to his mother, survivors include his siblings, Kerry Arthur and Larry of Sandy Hook, Scott Burns and Lisa of Newtown, Daniel Burns and Ross Campbell of Chicago, Christine Patti and Joseph of Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y., Susan Mason and Glen of Virginia, Pamela Conrad and Peter of Shelton, and Leslie Irwin and Dean of Guilford; as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; and longtime friend Bill Quinn. A sister, Lisa, predeceased Mr Burns.

He was a loyal career employee with the State of Connecticut Department of Developmental Services. He was a big personality with a special sense of humor. Mr Burns had a strong sense of style, a flair for design, and was a very generous person. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to his devoted friend and caregiver Nancy Parker, with a special thanks to Dina and the Masonicare Hospice Team.

Friends are invited to meet directly in St Joseph Church, 424 Coram Avenue, Shelton, Thursday, July 9, at 10:30 am, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Lawn Cemetery, Shelton. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, July 8, from 4 to 7 pm, at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
