Bethel/Newtown Admirals 19U American Legion baseball team results from recent action are as follows:June 28, Admirals 12, Oxford 2: The Admirals scored ten runs in the final two innings in support of Joe Liquori's complete game effort on the mound. Michael Parker blasted a three-run opposite field home run.June 29, Admirals 5, Ansonia 4: Southpaw Austin Kasbarian scattered six hits and struck out seven to lead his team to a narrow win under the night sky at Nolan Field. Swinging hot bats for the Admirals were Nick Luhrs (2-for-4, two runs scored) and Anthony Rodriguez (2-for-3, two RBI).June 30, doubleheader, Waterbury 11, Admirals 3; Admirals 2, Waterbury 0: After taking a drubbing in the first half of a twilight doubleheader at Bucks Hill Field, the Admirals rebounded in the nightcap, handing Waterbury its first loss of the season as lefty Michael Parker turned in seven extraordinary innings on the hill. At the plate, Charlie Huegi went 2-for-2 and Sam Czel and Tyler Plumb blasted triples.July 3, double header, Admirals 16, Danbury 0; Admirals 4, Danbury 2: Starter Tim Vander Have threw five innings of shutout ball in game one (a shortened mercy rule contest) and then started game two, throwing two more innings of shutout ball. In the five-inning contest at Bethel High School, the Admirals banged out 15 hits, including three apiece by Stephen Brittin and Abe Defeo. In the nightcap, Kasbarian and Huegi each had RBI singles.July 5, double header, Monroe 2, Admirals 0; Monroe 6, Admirals 2: The Admirals fell to 14-4 and remain in second place in the Zone 5 standings.
