Newtown Women’s Softball League scores and highlights from this past week are as follows:

Black Swan 15, Cork N’ Barrel 5: For Black Swan, Kayla Mesko hit her first home run. Kayla O’Grady hit a grand slam, driving in four runs. Lisa Coates and Jess Gibbons made impressive catches in left center and left field, respectively.

Reach 10, My Place 1: Stacey Gordon, Samantha Ciaccia, and Melissa England provided the offense for Reach scoring seven runs. Ciaccia and Ali Cordova had triples. Shelby Rotunda and Courtney Kowcheris played well in the field.

Reach 11, Cork N’ Barrel 0: Reach Newtown beat Cork & Barrel 11 to 0. Anna Christopher’s pitching led Reach, with Shelby Rotunda and Melissa Eigen-Ansman played well in the field. Eigen-Ansman went 3-for-3, Ali Cordova was 4-for-4 with a home run, Lindsey Carley was 4-for-4 with a double, and key hits were provided by Stacey Gordon, Samantha Ciaccia, and Courtney Kowcheris. 

Black Swan 21, Petzercise 5: All players scored at least one run in the win. Melissa Fracker hit a triple and homer, and scored twice. Laurie Comerford went 4-for-4 with a double, homer, and three runs scored. Karlie Kuligowski made a nice stop at third and threw out the runner at first.

In other league action, Petzercise defeated Donate Life 13-8 and My place Beat Donate Life 8-5.
