Trinity Episcopal Church invites the public to join church members for a four-week book discussion of a popular March 2019 release.

The group will read and discuss The Universal Christ: How A Forgotten Reality Can Chance Everything We See, Hope For, and Believe by Richard Rohr.

In the book and accompanying podcast, “Another Name for Everything,” Rohr explores what it means that Jesus was called “Christ” and how this forgotten truth can restore hope and meaning to everyone’s lives. Rohr articulates a transformative view of Jesus Christ as a portrait of God’s constant, unfolding work in the world.

Participants will sit with this teaching through prayer, discussion, and contemplative practices.

The group will meet in person at Trinity Church, 36 Main Street, and also via Zoom, on Thursdays, August 5 and 19, and September 9 and 23. Each session will begin at 6:30 pm.

All are welcome to participate in the series. Registration is requested and can be done at trinitynewtownct.org/universal-christ.
