Lost Toddler Found Quickly
Just before noon on Wednesday, police responded to a call from a Saddle Ridge
Road mother, who told them her two year-old daughter was missing from the
family property.
Police didn't identify the caller or the girl who was lost.
The missing girl had last been seen playing with her medium-sized dog in her
yard.
Eight police went to the scene, Detective Robert Tvardzik said, noting that
police take such reports of missing children very seriously.
The girl, who was dressed for the weather, had wandered into the woods behind
her house while playing with her dog, Det Tvardzik said.
Firefighters were called to the scene to provide additional manpower for the
search but were called off after the girl was soon found, he said.
The girl was reported missing for a matter of minutes before being located.
A Purdy Station Road resident spotted the girl and her dog walking in that
area, Det Tvardzik said.
The girl was returned home unharmed after the incident, the detective said.
Purdy Station Road and Saddle Ridge Road are dead ends off Hattertown Road.
