Gallery Has Galloped Across The Street
Grey Horse Gallery, an art gallery and framing shop, has moved into a new
location. The business is now located in the first floor of the Masonic Temple
on Berkshire Avenue. The new location is almost directly across the street
from where Grey Horse was formerly situated in the former post office
building. Ironically, when a Masonic Temple was first built in the center of
the Sandy Hook business district, according to Dan Cruson's latest book,
Newtown: Images of America , it was situated in the location where Grey Horse
Gallery used to be. Grey Horse regularly exhibits works by Newtown artists
Richard McEvoy, Carol Hubbard and Diane Dutchick. Recent additions include
pieces by the artist Ken Graff. Entry to the gallery is through the parking
lot of The Villa (formerly Pizza Villa), on Riverside Road, or the driveway of
St John's Episcopal Church on Berkshire Avenue. The gallery is open Tuesday
through Saturday, 10:30 am-4:30 pm. Its telephone is 270-1199.
