Fall Associated Bridle Trails Pace Series Schedule Features Frost On The Pumpkin Event

Several fall paces, including the Newtown Bridle Lands Association Frost on the Pumpkin Pace, will be held in the area in September and October, as follows:bedfordridinglanes.com.carollbancel@gmail.comSunday, September 10, Bedford Riding Lanes 31st Annual Fall Pace & Luncheon, John Jay Homestead State Historic Site, 400 Cantitoe Street, Katonah, N.Y. Advance registration, signed release, payment, and negative Coggins required for each horse and rider. Includes luncheon. Nonriders welcome for lunch and as spectators. Prepayment and advance registration required with proof of negative Coggins; $10 late fee charged for registration on day of the pace. Ribbons and a plaque for the overall winner will be presented after the last riders have returned. Light picnic food and snacks will be offered. Prizes are given for best costumed team, the oldest horse and rider combination, and the "Peanut Award" goes to the youngest rider. Cost is $65 for NBLA members and $80 for nonmembers. Junior Rider: NBLA member $40, nonmember $50. Payment is required in advance of pace day. Any payments outstanding on Pace day will have a $10 charge added per rider. All paces:

*Require approved protective headgear (safety helmets) and suitable riding footwear (boot with heel).

*Have four divisions: Hunt, Pleasure or Hacking, Junior, and Western.

*Western teams must have at least one western rider.

*Junior teams must have at least one junior rider.

*Will be held rain or shine.

*Will have go-rounds at all fences.

*Will award ribbons for first through tenth place.

*Riders accumulate points towards series awards.

*Teams consist of 2-3 riders; single riders are not permitted.
