Kevin’s Community Center Kicks Off Ticket Sales

For Annual Fall Fundraiser

Kevin’s Community Center, Inc (KCC), a nonprofit medical clinic dedicated to providing free healthcare to Newtown and area residents over the age of 18, has put on sale tickets for its annual fall fundraiser, “Mozart, Merlot and Mums: an Afternoon Event of Music, Fine Wines, and Garden Tours.”

The event will be hosted from 4 to 7 pm on Saturday, September 12, by Newtown residents George and Shane Miller and will offer a taste of wines from around the world, live music from acclaimed musical conductor Richard Serbagi, a variety of ethnic cuisines from several local restaurants, garden tours, and a silent auction showcasing the best of Newtown’s benefactors.

A raffle with approximately $4,000 in prizes donated from local and statewide organizations will also be part of the event. Prizes include a hand-quilted maple mosaic quilt, generously queen-sized and made from 100 percent cotton in a multitude of fall colors and fabrics; a day with golf professional Bill Flood at Rock Ridge Country Club; and a one-night stay and dinner for two at Foxwoods Resort and Casino.

“Mozart, Merlot and Mums” tickets are $30 and can be purchased at C.H. Booth Library, Dodgingtown Market, Lexington Gardens, Newtown Drug Center, Stop N Save Liquor, and Yankee Wine & Spirits.

For more details about the event, call 512-2780 or visit KevinsCommunityCenter.org.

KCC is hopeful that this fundraiser will increase awareness of the clinic’s mission to provide skilled and compassionate healthcare to those who are unable to afford it. The vision for KCC includes a new facility with expanded hours of operation and greater resources for providing wellness initiatives.
